Peru Luxury Tours Itinerary

Day 1Luxury Rainbow Mountain tour

We will wake early, around 4:30 AM, for a private pick-up in Cusco. The drive will take roughly 3 hours through the South Valley to Pitumarca’s trailhead. We will enjoy a hearty breakfast in a local community there, meeting our guide and finalizing preparations. After warming up, we will begin the hike under sunrise’s glow.

The trail will lead us through changing landscapes: grassy plains, alpine lakes, and indigenous herding areas with llamas and alpacas. We will walk for roughly 2 to 2.5 hours uphill to reach Vinicunca summit at 5,000–5,030 meters above sea level. Once at the peak, we will gaze at the vivid mineral stripes—reds, ochres, whites, and greens that make Rainbow Mountain famous. We will rest, take photos, and soak in the panoramic views, including the Ausangate glacier nearby.

After summit time, we will descend back toward the trailhead, passing the Red Valley option for added viewpoints if time allows. We will return for a buffet lunch served at a rustic eatery in Pitumarca community. Then we will board our private vehicle and drive back to Cusco, arriving in the mid-to-late afternoon. We will drop you off at your hotel, completing a luxurious and memorable day tour.
