Short Inca Trail 2 Days Details

During the Short Inca Trail to Machu Picchu, you may discover stunning Inca ruins, vast mountain views, lush tropical vegetation, and remarkable biological diversity. This ancient Inca road traverses the most beautiful views of the Sacred Valley and leads to the Sun Gate, a stone structure that marks the entrance to Machu Picchu citadel.

Machu Picchu is an ancient Inca city located 80 kilometers (50 miles) northwest of Cusco, Peru. At a height of 2,350 meters (7,710 feet), it is situated above the Urubamba River valley in a small depression between two peaks known as Huayna Picchu and Machu Picchu mountain

The Inca city of Machu Picchu was not discovered by the Spanish after the fall of the Inca Empire. It was not until 1911 when Hiram Bingham found the citadel after being directed there by a local Quechua-speaking inhabitant named Melchor Arteaga

The Short Inca Trail is a great alternative to the Classic Inca Trail. On the first day of the tour, you will have a short hike to Machu Picchu. The next day is spent visiting the Machu Picchu ruins, with the option to climb Huayna Picchu mountain or Machu Picchu mountain.
